About Me

Early Years
Rich Greenfield was born Marcin R.K. in Warsaw, Poland on December 19th, 1980. He spent the first 3.5 years of his life as a citizen of the People's Republic of Poland. In 1984 his family moved to the small West-German village of Versmold. They lived there for a year and in 1985 moved to Milwaukee,WI.
Early Influences
Greenfield attended West Allis Central Highschool and it was there were at the age of 15 he discovered improv comedy as taught by staff from Comedy Sportz. Inspired by the improv instructors, one of which told him, "you have the talent, just keep working with it." he performed in his first solo improv show as part of a comedy showcase in McCormick's place in Grafton,WI. The audience was made up of only about 10 bar patrons, however Greenfield managed to make the most of it. The performances didn't go too well, and he decided to focus on other projects for the next 2 years.
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
While attending UW-Milwaukee Greenfield noticed that there was an empty stage in the smokey student-run coffee shop called the 8th note. He talked to the student-employee working there and managed to get permission to do an off-the-cuff performance. This would be his first original one-man improv show performed in front of a real "audience". One of the people viewing his performance was IT student and film buff Robert Rudnick, a person who would later befriend Greenfield and motivate him to take his act further.
